Our teams include students of the Perry Local School District (and neighboring areas) in grades K – 12, and are a mix of experienced players and players new to the game. We pride ourselves on coaching for all levels of experience, we make sure all players are challenged and encouraged to go beyond their current level of play.

 

We currently field the following teams:

LITTLE PANTHERS  - grades K-5 (5th grade has option to play Flag or Middle School)

This opportunity is new as of 2020! This age group will play Flag Rugby against opponents Jackson, North Canton, Glenoak, and Canton on Wednesday evenings.  This is an amazing time for kids to learn and experience what the sport of rugby is all about!  Home matches are at the Perry High School Stadium.

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOYS and GIRLS - grades 5-8

This age group plays Rugby 7's which is a very exciting and fast paced version of rugby. There are 7 players from each team on the field, playing (2) 7 minute halves with a 1 minute halftime. 

 

This is a contact game, but with adjustments to the adult rules for the safety of children. Perry Middle School competes in the Canton League for a chance to be crowned RugbyOhio State Champions. Home matches are played in the Perry Stadium.

 

The primary competitive season for Middle School teams runs March thru May. Players are encouraged to participate in pre-season indoor practices January - March. There are also opportunities to participate in summer tournaments, therefore we maintain off-season practices throughout the summer and early fall for those who wish to participate.

HIGH SCHOOL BOYS and GIRLS - grades 9-12

This age group plays Rugby 15's which consists of 15 players from each team on the field, playing (2) 35 minute minute halves with a 5 minute halftime.

This is a contact game played by the International Youth Rules, which are very close to adult rules but still include some adjustments for safety. Perry High School boys competes in RugbyOhio's DII League with a chance to be crowned RugbyOhio State Champs. Perry High School girls complete in the RugbyOhio Developmental League. Home matches are played at the Perry Stadium.
